Some cities of northern Iran started to installation Incineration Plant for municipal solid wastes. The moisture and perishable waste, respectively 80 and 90 per cent. The cities are very close together. Also, the cost of energy is very cheap in Iran. With this fact that drying solid waste with 80% humidity, require energy, Is installation Incineration power plants to produce electricity is economically feasible? The cost of drying the waste per tonne of waste is and how much is the cost of energy for such waste?
The burning of waste biomass is questionable in terms of thermal efficiency as a significant amount of energy (heat) is needed to expel the water in the biomass. This basic thermal issue has a very negative effect on the economics of the process. Also, the particulate discharge from the facility will be noticed by the residents even in small amounts.The economics of waste incineration facilities are dictated by the amount of air scrubbers and the level of scrubbing the government requires. The cleaner the air requirements the lower the economic return of the process. Essentially, the process is trading one form of pollution for another. If I might suggest, there is an alternative that recovers the water, and converts the waste biomass into compounds used in multiple industries. The attached paper describes the technology and was published in the Journal of Sustainable Development in June.

Thanks a lot for your favorite answer. I agree with you. Usually the energy requirement for dewatering of solid wastes for injection to the system has negative effect on the economics of the process.
I think that solid wastes Incineration is cheaper than recycling as a biomass etc. For example, in Japan, sewarage sludge in many cities are incinerated in spite of advaced recyclyng system ( like as solid fuel). That kind of recycling system costs too high to install to sludge treatment and incineration plant.
If the advanced recycling system cost went down, you would have to install that kind of system. Now, cost is too high. (Sorry not to mention the exact cost)

I agree with you, only the solid wastes be dry or no require to spend huge energy to dyt it for injection to the system. Our discussion is about a solid wastes with more than 80% moisture and 90% perishable. Do you still persist on your idea with this type of solid wastes?. If your reply is positive still, with this type of solid wastes, you have to present the document that show the writers that solid wastes Incineration with this characterization is cheaper than recycling as a biomass.

As you mentioned that sir, Moisture content is more than 80% & 90% perishable, i would like to suggest to go for biological treatment like Anaerobic digestion (solid state) and composting technology rather than going for the thermal treatment i.e. Incineration because to remove moisture itself cost effective with green house gases emission. if you adopt Anaerobic digestion means you will get valuable renewable energy as Biogas and byproduct like biofertilizer (digestate).

Sorry to interruput your discussion. As you said, just inciniration treatment of solid wastes is not good for environmental impact, i.e.increasing CO2 emission. So, in Japanese big cities produce baiomass fuel from sewage wasts. They are fuel for electric power generation. But the cost of their system is unclear. Because company and local governments tend to conceal the cost effective. When I ask them about cost effective, they avoid to answer. Maybe its cost is higher than cost of conventional solid waste treatment system, I imagine. However, we have to estimate of biomass fuel cost effective. It's our work for future. Sorry to give you some proper documents.
