It is quite important to know about the behavior of a field (F) at a black-hole. With rotational dynamics operating at a black-hole curl F will be expected to have active nonzero value. However, grad F go to zero once it reaches a true saddle point. Currently, it will be appreciated to clarify whether mathematically it may be quite different or not.
