Yes. It is my experience, when I had been teaching a course for the senior undergraduate classes. In regard to introduce and stimulate a specific soft skills  (e.g. the research work and academic writing skills) for the students who will take the undergraduate final project in the next semester, I considered to include the serial meetings of a special lesson on the syllabus in term of a small project task. I developed the guidance, standard, and the theme of the project, presented it at the first class meeting, had controlled and discussed the project progress for around 30 minutes in each  meeting of the class. It was interesting for the students. Besides they  may have obtained an understanding related to the course, they may have also had an experience how to explore academically the field.

Of course, it needs more efforts in the implementation, particularly in its preparation, control, and the evaluation. But, the student attainments are the highlighted point. Briefly, the student understanding (in my case, the senior undergraduate students) is one of the essential aspects in regard to the preparation, management, and the evaluation of the class. Another student type may need a different treatment. Moreover, for me who does not have academic background in the teaching field, I am glad to discuss this topic.

I do not know exactly what is meant by flipped classroom, but I know the changes experienced in the classroom by the obsession with quality that prevails in universities. I think the supposed quality has been reduced to numbers within the classroom (enrollment rates, dropout rates, rates surpassed ...) and outside (with successive teacher evaluations). This has both the rarefied atmosphere that, in my opinion, have stopped learning / teaching and now we're just evaluating (a and for others).

Not every time, but the good part is students attempt to learn and come, so that the lecture session becomes a facilitation one for learning and exchange of collaborative thought process. I normally give a prelude during the close of session, so that they have a some inputs even before they attempt to learn the flipped materials.

Hence. I do not have every session on a flipped basis. I sequence it in such a way they have enough time to prepare.

I don´t teach right now, but this is in connection with my research area on time, place vs the affordances of ICT. I think the flipped classroom model is a real development, and a good and timely innovation which adapts places of different kinds to the current affordances of ICTs. It is better as a student to come together F2F and work and interact and get help with problems, than to get together and listen to someone talking, and then be alone with all the problems at home. It also has some democratic characteristics - all cannot get the same help at home, nor work effectively at home. All changes that increases student activity are generally good, if it only doesn´t become all too much (the "a course and a half" phenomenon"which sometimes shows up when taking new tools or practices in use and keeping all the old). 

Having said that, I also want to argue that Flipped classroom is hardly any final and sustainable solution. As with the lecture capture solution, it conserves the lecture as a eternal and necessary component in all teaching and learning. It just invertes the use of learning spaces, public and private. The lecture risk becoming even more "lecturish" just because it is so easy to record in that way. What can be lacking, perhaps for all of us, is a new understanding of what ICts means to the teaching and learning process in the longer perspective. Perhaps the lecture should have been abandoned already when print came into use...that was what many thought - dreamed of or feared...

I am for the flipped teaching when dealing with postgraduate students as I try to provide them with a lot of reading and writing stuff for their final master projects.

My view is that in face to face  lessons I cannot develop all the activities which need  some feedback  and this way they can read , think and write in an autonomous way.

A disadvantage so far is that it requires a lot of time to follow their individual achievement .

I agree with Brenda Jacono. The concept of flipped classroom is similar to the concept of self directed learning. Flipped classroom is software operated independent or self directed learning outside the classroom. It is interactive with high level of learning engagement, self testing and self evaluation. Flipped classroom is an example of hybrid or blended learning. Flipped classroom is the new revision of modular learning. The difference between flipped learning and modular learning lies on the learning tool and learning mode. Flipped learning and modular learning both enhance reading ability. For me flipped classroom does not replace traditional classroom, rather it is an additional pedagogy or learning tool to promote the quality of learning. Flipped learning should be validated by face-to-face lecture-discussion. Regardless of the strategy used, the teacher is always the key player in teaching-learning process. Is the teacher competent in preparing flipped lesson? Is the teacher competent to evaluate how much the student learned? Is the flipped lesson suited to the learner?

I strongly agree with Asunción Sánchez-Villalon in using flipped teaching blended with face to face teaching in postgraduate program.

Flipped classroom working very often come in your mind the very old proverb '' ALL WORK & NO PLAY MAKE JACK A DULL BOY ''.It is in this line it is desirable that especially primary student should not being placed a burden on the students & the syllabus & the examination may be prepare in such a way that student may fill the atmosphere ,congenial ,& comfortable .

We are aware that the said suggestion are merely a topic for discussion nothing more .Student are living in competitive age & parents are equally responsible that their children should become their model & all the required pressure also come from the parents on students .

In this question we are side tracking the main question but we must find out the ways & means to control the motion of fast movement in education system that without loosing the challenge of 21 st century ,academic excellence teachers may certainly find the system & methods without disturbing the career & development of students .

One-Square -Meter ran a documentary on flipped learning at NTU Singapore. I was able to record a one-minute duration of the documentary end. It is more about an approach to learning than a gathering in a classroom. It is about first-contact learnig than third-contact reading. In my homeland, any crawling baby seeing a burning lamp or candle on the floor is ever excitedly drawn to it. I have observed that the child is moved away from the lamp direction ONLY one-time, out of parent-moral obligation. A reattempt towards the lamp by the baby the second time earns the baby the RIGHT to FIRST-HAND Experience. After the baptism from the hot lamp, the baby knows better. Researches can be conducted in four ways: 1.Study; 2.Questionnaire; 3.Experiment; 4.Observation. Of this four ways, Observation and Experiment are STRICTLY beyond compare and I see this is where flipped learning is heading.

These days are getting more competitive; challenges and crises on the rise. The needs for instant assured solutions are on the rise. Thus the next generation of expert and researchers must be up-to speed. But this is still way low, hence the integration of humanoids, androids, drones, robotics, et cetera in the application of BIG DATA in generation solutions.

So, don't let us stifle the process. We must allow it to run. Those students that cannot keep up with the pace will evemtually stop at a bus-stop, but will still get educated. The students that finally reach the process-output will evetually become those German-Machines on which we all can ASSUREDLY depend today and in the future.

I have been teaching most of my courses to graduate students in a hybrid format for a few years. Yes, there is a lot of work for the students and for me, but the outcome has been good. For instance, the students reported more satisfaction and learning. I have more flexibility and "space" to teach because I have two classrooms to work in.

To prevent burnout for students and me, I've tried to strike a balance between the online work and the work/learning in our face-to-face teaching/learning; I also have some teaching assistants to help me.

The problem of training includes not only school at the desk and textbooks. Education begins in the womb, when the umbilical cord blood and nerve pathways are transmitted to the fetus signaling molecules from the mother's body (nicotine by smoking, alcohol, when the love of drinks, drugs, including the banned ...). The fetus perceives sounds of quarrels and discord in the family. Or, on the contrary, classical music and gentle words. After giving birth, learning continues in the family. And then joins in school. So, only a symbiosis of positive skills in the family and in schools will lead to a society of moral citizen (but not drunk, a drug addict, a bandit ...). My personal view is that school children should be taught to work independently with textbooks. We need to develop skills in children, depending on the innate characteristics of children. It is necessary to devote much time to physical activities, spend some sessions outdoors at school - outdoors - subject - talking about the flying birds, seeing the sun, moon, wind, rain ... (biology, astronomy, geography ...). Parents at home should try to develop a child's innate tendencies. For example, a Paganini developed the ability to play the violin (though sometimes very painful methods, but the results exceeded the expected development of talent). On education home of Leonardo da Vinci should talk separately.

I was re-organizing my electronic archive when I saw this document which I downloaded in mid 2015. I must say that I am not in the academic profession. I am in the computer hardware and software design and development profession and into heavy tech-support.
