Several times my comments were systematically downvoted without any reason. I would suggest to modify the downvoting procedure. All downvotings should be commented, possibly anonymously. Otherwise the downvoters have no responsibility for their action and do not allow the commenters defend themselves.

I would also suggest to modify the downvoting procedure. Downvoting should be accompanied with reason so that one can realize why his/her answer was not to the mark. It is not necessary that it should always be anonymously done. They can even come up boldly with their names.

As a relatively new user of Researcgate my thought is that it can also be a factor that user do not know the action fully and what it means? I agree that it would be useful with some feedback. Maybe just a comments line that shows up that one can write in? Best regards, Åsa

i would firstly aknwolege your answers, useful and critical comments for most, if not all, the questions related to your research area. I always follow the questions you answer and read your complete answers. I agree with you that downvoting should be justified so that one may know why he got it, this feedback would help to avoid any defects and will also stop anonymous from careless downvoting.
