Hello dear researchers, Scanning near field microscopy is a standard method for mapping the near field localized amplitude and phase. Is that possible, by inverse calculation( Inversely fit the experimental data) we can recover some near field information in the far field microscopy?? If so what is the Physics behind this? Can anybody explain??

I mean how a far field microscopy retrieve the near field signals (as they decay quickly--- Evanescent waves decay quickly and dies down within one wavelength distance).
