I would like to modify aminated polystyrene beads with carboxyl functional groups using succinic anhydride. But the majority of literature work with succinic anhydride for carboxylation of amines is with DMF, not DMSO. I can't use DMF because the polystyrene particles would dissolve in DMF but can tolerate DMSO. Any suggestions?
