In my new book "16 strivings for god: new psychology of religious experiences," I support William James's analysis that different personalities need different gods. I disagree with some well executed research defining a construct of spirituality applicable for all. Am I right or wrong?
@Prof Reiss, perhaps, the people who have experienced repentance, forgiveness, peace with God and know that death is the door to eternal life will say that it is basic desire. (Thanks for your research papers on the 16 basic needs. I have cited in my paper.)
With our birth ,caste ,creed,& religion gets identified in our life .With this our mind ,heart ,& divinity within us play the important part for establishing moral code & ethics in our life ,for which we have to be careful & worthy .
If this be the case religion helps us to show the path of spirituality which we have to cultivate in very humble ,honest ,& pious mode for individual who have wordy responsibility the path of spirituality is not a bed of roses as by performing of our action we have to cultivate it .
If we carry out the path both with responsibility & under a discipline off spirituality which we have cultivated,our personality gets reflects on our face due to our behavior ,out sober outlook ,way of our talk our image of a smiling behavior make an over all spirituality personality .
With our spirituality creates our energy forces of our mind & in need covering 'AURAS' & Intuition which automatically comes our mind & in this light we can certainly move to a desire path .
Dear Prof Parikh, In my book I present a very detailed, scientifically testable analysis of religion that disagrees with most everything you wrote. If you are a curious sort and read the book someday, let me know how you would respond to my viewpoint.
