Repetitive is rejected in scientific research because wasting time. scientific research is a meticulous process live only the creative work others are ignored by people.
Great question. It depends on the project and the institution. You are supposed to break new grounds and push the envelop of knowledge. In research I institutions in the USA, will not be allowed to graduate if you didn't break new grounds. You may not even be abel to graduate after finishing your course work and research. Some send rate institutions may allow some to graduate by having students repay some experimental work and writing a dissertation!
I think the scientific research is a creative job. But also, you can repeat the experiment to find out for yourself whether or not the other researcher's assertions are true.
It should be a creative one. Basically scientific findings are not actually repetitive because occasions may arise that necessitate a research to validate or scientifically confirm a particular research output maybe in another geographical location, given some similar condition. This kind of research further leads to more findings different from the existing ones.
Most of us here are very sincere. I laugh many times when people shout "my work","my work" under the umbrella of novelity. Scientific research is purely the combination of repeat in disguise hence, creativity. Thanks
Both, but creativity is more critical to successful (and ongoing) research. You must have creativity, even if it means repetitively combining known techniques (in a new way). I've found there to be a lot of repetition of ideas and techniques but one must have the creativity to see the connections and make them work in a new way.
Both, the repetition (especially in writing) allows the researcher to hone his or her skill in this area which will eventually lead to clearer and better organized manuscripts for future submissions. Creation (hypothesis development) is a separate skill that can be honed alone, with colleagues, and/or with mentors.
There are basic research works that open new investigation roads, these works are very creative and are continued by many applied research works. In these last ones they repeat the ideas but applying them to non previously solved tasks. In these works there is repetition, but there is also creation. The works of comparison of different methods exist, in them the repetition prevails but they have a dose of creation, by the reason allow to choose the best ways to continue depending on the the conditions.
Scientific research is a such for creating new for something from their advance research & this itself is a creative process .After the research it becomes a study process for the student either interested in the faculty of science or research areas & than it become the part of their study & as such this can not be repetitive job .
