1+1=2 is not only possible but reasonable, rational, and common sense. Those who tried to rely on algebra or complex numbers, did some trick to prove,e.g. that 1+1=1. BUT the fallacy was found out.

1 apple + 1 orange = 2 fruit but not 2 apples or 2 oranges.

It is not perfectly just for all cases,

1+1=2!

1+1=1!

It is possible in getting synergy in management as:

1+1 = 3 ---- positive synergy

1+1 = 2 ---- no synergy

1+1 = 1 ---- negative synergy

In management, First equation is important for getting competitive advantage.

1+1 > 1 is the result of synergy like team work, team trust, team cohesion, team satisfaction etc.

1+1 < 1 is the result of dis-synergy like social loafing, groupthink, disagreement, argument, sabotage etc.

1 + 1 = 2 by definition. What creates ambiguity is that simple addition may not be the correct model to apply, to describe an event.

So for instance, one hammer and one screwdriver, placed in a toolbox, will add up to two tools. But the relative speed between two objects approaching each other, if each one is traveling at 1 km/h with respect to a common frame of reference, is not going to be quite 2 km/h. (It will be slightly less, due to the Lorentz Transformation.)

That's not the fault of the definition of addition. It is instead that addition was incorrectly applied in solving this physics problem.

Perhaps something similar can be said about "synergy"? Synergy is usually described as the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. In fact, synergy brings together other factors that would usually go unnoticed, or at least would usually be ignored,  to make it appear like the combination is greater than the sum of its parts.

Also, in binary, 01 + 01 = 10. You have to carry the 1, much as you do in decimal addition when adding 05 + 05.

And one shouldn't get confused when trying to sum up different units. One fish and one bicycle might be an odd pair of things to sum up, but they still add up to two things.

Do not confuse abstract numbers, for which by definition 1 and 1 is 2, and non-abstract.

For instance in Japanese the words for numbers (1 etc.) change depending on the object being counted, and then by definition they cannot be added. Do not let the built-in limitations of your own language confuse your thought processes.

Numbres are representing physically existed objects, but those objects cannot in general be added like natural numbers (where it holds 1+1=2).

The defined problem is not of math but of relationship between variables.

So, before analise any problem, we have to define all variables and its relations to minimize or to avoid all ambiguity types.

It is necessary not only in researches but at all our works and acts.

Variables are representation of any numbers/objects so for representing any thing, lets assume we say its one or two ... . However, the number system for any object only defines its presence not its property. 

We simply start thinking that numbers representation for any object and perform any mathematical operations.

How it is possible, we can represent any thing with number count and perform some operations. It's any proof existence   for "Do numbers really exists" or a strong myth which allow us to believe any number system and do according.   

Till now, there is no human observation says that (object x + object x) not equal         2 (object x).

So till now it is reasonable to say 1+1=2

However, I can imagine a hypothetical system in which 1+1 not equal 2,  in this system Laws of conservation of mass, energy, momentum do not valid.

if we work with real numbers it should be, but if we work with Bolian number: 1+1=1

1 +1=2 is a maths edition & if we are going to add 1 there will not be any limit for the total sum of 1 this offer us an opportunity to know the importance of number 1 .

With this one can be highly valued even student coming one from the examination or anybody evaluated in the line with number 1 he can be well respected .

To us this is the value of no 1 & when we said 1 +1 =2  i wish to evaluated as 1 +1=1 To me this 1 signifies oneness within every of us . Even personal life with our closeness of the mind & the heart we may not considered the union as 2 but this is only 1 as this cannot be separated from our mind & the heart .

This is my personal opinion  

In maths, 1 + 1 = 2. But, in other subjects it may be different..

For Scientists  1 + 1 = 2 but for philosophers it can be anything as per thought process.
