Public Administration is a child of Political Science, therefore Political Science is macro in nature because it deals with the state and systems of government and its bureaucracy, while Public Administration is micro in nature because it deals with the people or the bureaucrats who serve as the machinery of the state.
I think, such academic qualification is condition for professional working in administration. But practical worki in more tnan one institions should be.

They are not different, however, Public Administration deals with the Governmental Administration, i.e managing governmental sectors such as Public Policy, International Affairs, Human Rights, Military Services etc. Nonetheless, the Political Science includes all the fields of Public Administration plus the political issues related political parties, entities and organizations.
As someone who received my doctorate in Political Science, and has taught public administration for 20 years, I can say they are more than related - they are interdependant. One must understand both in order to be effective in either. Political science helps student understand "why" we do the things we do; public administration conveys "how" to best do it.
As Political Science is a Department in Social Sciences Faculty, so is Public Administration a unit or specialised area in Political Science Department. In some institutions, other units/areas include: Government, International Relations and Strategic Studies, Local Government Administration, Theory, etc., While Political Science is the holistic study of state policy, statecraft/management, including the processes of acquiring state power, its utilisation, political behaviour, at various levels among others, Public Administration is the vessel for state policy implementation/execution as evidenced in the mandate of civil service.
I agree with the previous respondents that public administration is regarded as a subdiscipline of political science. Increasingly, public administration has also been accepted as a separate discipline that is closely alligned with law and business administration.
Although the public administration can be seen as an entity independent of Political Science, for its foundations, based on the rule of law, respect for laws and regulations, the Administration is the guarantor of compliance with the rules of a country, Its functionaries have as their main function, the guarantee that the laws are fulfilled for all. However, the Policy has a direct influence on it, constituting itself as the instrument of application of the public policies of each country; the preparation, responsibility, integrity of the Public Administration affects the effectiveness and efficiency of the governments, without a doubt.
Without a knowledge of how government (local, state, national) interrelates, I don't see how it is possible to manage the various departments over which you have authority. A well-grounded education in political science is vital to public administration.
Public Administration is highly interlinked with other social science. but most importantly and significantly related to political science. For further understanding I recommend you to refer Khodr, Hiba, "Public Administration and Political Science: An Historical Analysis of the Relation Between the Two Disciplines" (2005). Electronic Theses, Treatises and Dissertations. Paper 3144.
In short both discipline haves a lots of common subject matter. therefore, having first degree in political science might make you relevant in Public Administration.
