During the last years the discussion about the term “personalized medicine” grows rapidly. Despite it is often associated with an enhanced use of IT it also contains consequent critics of the limitations of evidence-based medicine and offers the perspective that the individual patient could possibly better be treated in future. 

The question is, does personalized medicine contains the power of a paradigm shift in medicine. And that would depend on its ability to integrate or influence most medical and therapeutic disciplines.
