I believe you can use EEO instead of LAMPS in comet assay. Theoretically it should increase accuracy of obtained results, but I doubt you will be able to see any substantial improvements. In case you find change to EEO helpful I would appreciate you to share your experience.
I think both are different. NMPA with low EEO and LMPA both are needed for comet assay. NMPA with low EEO is mainly used to make an agarose bed on the slide which is then layered with LMPA containing cell suspension for better separation of DNA fragments.
I did this experiment once. But it stopped at the first step!! Because it jellified faster than LMPA and I couldn’t make the cell suspension ;-) if you pass this step, I would appreciate you to share your experience.
