A simple remark to point out that there is a debate about whether "simulator sickness" and "cybersickness" are the same phenomena, although they both belong to the big family of "motion sickness" and perceptual conflicts.

However, the SSQ is widely used to assess negative symptoms in virtual reality, and allows comparisons between studies. You can as you have already done find factor analyses (especially for foreign language validations), but I think the SSQ is globally considered to contain a good face validity.

The SSQ (Simulation Sickness Questionnaire) is widely used in VR research to assess users' level of sickness symptoms. Nevertheless, It has been chastised for its psychometric properties and applicability in VR as a measure of cybersickness.

Within the context of cybersickness, which is taken as a kind of visually induced motion sickness, there is evidence that SSQ items are reliable and sensitive for measurement Sevinc & Berkman, 2020).
On the other hand, I have doubts on its validity as a construct, since its dimensions are too complicated, with items loading on multiple factors and complicated score calculation formulas. I believe that there is a need for a revised version.
You may consider using MSAQ (Gianaros et al., 2001) as an alternative.
