I have two treatment groups (treatment and control group) and dependent variable is measured at two levels or timepoints (pre and post- after 3 months) . I have conducted repeated measures ANOVA. I have send my paper for publication and ONE OF THE REVIEWER IS ASKING :-

"Post-hoc analysis should be performed to examine the difference between pre- and post-treatment within a group, and the different between the two groups."

Is it necessary to conduct post hoc test when we have only 2 levels?

From the following tutorial by Dr Todd Grande I have learned that for post hoc test is necessary if we have 3 levels or 3 timepoints. :-
