Is it required to pre-treat cells with α-Galactosylceramide for GalCer:CD1d staining?

I am not sure if I need to incubate cells with Galactosylceramide before staining with a GalCer:CD1d Complex antibody (140505; BioLegend), or I can directly stain cells with antibody in my cell suspension to stain activated NKT cells.
