Dear all

I want to build a small fault model, considering the tectonic stress, the horizontal stress is relatively high.Is this the case where you can only use the stress boundary. This is a fixed displacement at the bottom of the model, applying forces around the model and at the top?

The boundary conditions are shown below(the size of my model is 150*80*70) :

fix z ran z 0

app szz -12.5e6 ran z 70

app sxx -21.375e6 grad 0 0 3.75e4 ran x 0

app sxx -21.375e6 grad 0 0 3.75e4 ran x 150

app syy -11.4e6 grad 0 0 2e4 ran y 0

app syy -11.4e6 grad 0 0 2e4 ran y 80

When such boundary conditions are applied, the stress nephogram of my model becomes very ugly and abnormal. I mean is this the right way to apply stress?
