Hello,
I'm working on a project to develop a bikeability index for a dense 3x3 km urban area, characterized by a high density of small streets. I desperately need to figure out bicycle traffic, but there's literally no existing data on bike traffic.
So, I'm wondering if it's even possible to build trip generation and trip distribution models for the whole site using just gate counting (major street junctions with different vehicle types across various days and times) and land-use data. (Points of Interest (POI), Residential capacity, Office space capacity, etc)
By mixing these datasets, I'm hoping to see if I can actually generate those trip generation and trip distribution models for the entire area. Ultimately, my main goal here is to figure out bicycle trip data specifically for this city center district,
I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this whole integrated approach is even doable.
Thanks for your time and looking forward to your valuable insights!
