I am working on amelioration of hexavalent chromium in plant. I want to go for a technique by which I can visually analyze the location of this chromium in plant sample. Suggest me a best technique please.
The usual approach would be X-ray emission spectroscopy with electron or other high energy, well-columnated, or focussed, excitation sources. There are other options such as laser ablation ICP-MS.
X-ray fluorescence has the potential to do this, but one needs to be sure full penetration of the sample by the x-rays is achieved so that the entire sample is analyzed. Also, one needs to have a known control that has been well characterized elementally so that one knows they are seeing all of the desired elements.
