We would like to trap CO2 in MOFs. Incubating samples in carbonate, bicarbonate solutions and exposing them to a CO2 gaseous atmosphere was not effective in trapping CO2. Please let me know, will dry ice be useful in this case (please ignore the cryogenic effect of dry ice). If possible, please send me any other possible ways to trap CO2?

It is possible to trap CO2 gas at lower temperature. At the Dry ICE temperature, if your MOF will have the sufficient sized pores, it adsorbs the CO2 very nicely. The same phenomenon has been verified by single crystal structure study as well. The very first work by Ramanathan Vaidhyanathan et al. (DOI: 10.1126/science.1194237) and the recent Angew Chem by Anna M. Plonka and co-workers ( DOI: 10.1002/anie.201207808) explains the capture of CO2 in MOFs. You go through these attached articles and follow the same protocols. If your MOF has some affinity towards adsorbing CO2 molecules, it must adsorb CO2 at lower temperature.

It should be theoretically possible and people have done the same. But many MOFs require a pressure sweep (say from 1-35 bar) of the gas for optimal adsorption. So, in case you are not able to trap CO2 by the general methods (which you already tried), you may have to expose your MOF to a high pressure flow of CO2 gas; but preferably before all these, please make sure that your MOF has some affinity for CO2 uptake and pores of suitable size are available for guest interactions.
