Our fantastic brain is a complex set of neurons that are working parallel together and save, transfer or retrieve all data we receive from surroundings. Maybe if we can simulate a neuron with a Microelectronic device or with an advanced programming code, in next step we can simulate human's brain.
There is a lot of research on this topic, also on the silicon integration of neurons behaviour.

You have to choose a special neuron's behaviour model, for example most of the silicon spikin neurons are so called "Integrate-and-Fire" (I&F) models.
