When using Aquacrop Model and seeking to calibrate it, it is necessary to enter soil water content (SWC) mm, in my experiment the moisture was measured with “Watermark” soil moisture meters (Cbar), maybe someone could clarify: 1. whether it is possible to replace soil moisture (Cbar) into soil water content (SWC)? 2. How to replace soil moisture (%) into soil water content (SWC) mm?
I think you might find this powerpoint informative in how available water varies with texture, measurement instruments, etc. If you have ceramic plate with pressure system, you can with some detail weigh a certain volume sample when saturated, and then stepwise increase pressure, check new weight when no more water is coming out, repeat as desired to wilting point, reweigh, then air or oven dry to get bulk density to your preference. Then you can plot yor own curves of available moisture by tension. You may have to do some English units to International units.

Hi Renaldas. I always use a soil water balance model to do that. We parametrized our own SWB model for french guianan forests. See the attached paper.

You have to find the relation between SWC and Cbarof your soil first (soil moisture release curve). Then the substitution becomes straight forwards for your soil only.
