I noticed once that the RG platform suggested me to recommend an article that I am author, and I did it to see if this would change something on score or stats. Surprising after I did this, there was no button to undo this action. After, although this recommendation still counts one recommendation in my profile it has disappeared in the article and it was not counted there.
Has anybody experienced this? Is there any action I can do to undo this?
From your own account you can not but on other social networks it has been found that some people create fake accounts then promote themselves. This was the case for politician Mitt Romney on Twitter. I do not recommend you do this on ResearchGate. I did recommend your question to promote awareness.
I did not find a way to recommend my works, however, it is possible to recommend others.
It is not possible to recommend your an article that you authored on RG as there is no recommendation button attached to such article when it is displayed on your RG page. Even when such article is added on the platform by someone else, RG can only ask you to claim authorship. If you experienced such, it could be a bug or that you were not added as an author by the person who added the article on RG or variations in your RG name and your publishing name on the article. That way, it is not possible for RG to ascribe the article to you. However, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "although this recommendation still counts one recommendation in my profile it has disappeared in the article and it was not counted there". Please elaborate.
