dear Abid Ullah, how about applying an inert gas atmosphere. Since you want to mix Ti with TiO2, you have already oxide in the mixture. You need to prevent any additional free oxide in your mixture.

Thank you dear Rüdiger Rentsch.I just tried some hexane/heptane ,it can help to stop the oxidation of Ti but actually it is difficult to make a slurry because the powders are not very solvable in these solvents.

You have not said the purpose of the experiment and also why making slurry of Ti with TiO2 and then turn TI in slurry to TiO2. Are you studying the reaction kinetics of Ti into TiO2 or to see how oxygen is being picked up by Ti from TiO2 in a slurry? There are many papers on oxidation kinetics of Ti to TiO2, and for that do some literature survey.

There is a possibility to use Ti -hydride and mixed with TiO2 to make slurry using water-alcohol mixture and heat it at very slow rate to 80C and see dissociation of hydrogen from Ti-hydride and conversion of Ti into TiO2 over the time. Take sample every 10 minutes to see the thickness of the oxide skin on Ti.
