I am trying to perform Ordinary Kriging in QGIS. In QGIS documentation, they have mentioned selection of variogram model is possible but in the software such an option cannot be seen. I am using QGIS 2.18.
You can use SAGA GIS as a plugin for QGIS or as a standalone application.
If you use SAGA GIS as a plugin for QGIS, you can find the option in processing toolbox (image attached).
Standalone SAGA GIS software (http://www.saga-gis.org/en/index.html) has a module for Ordinary Kriging (Geoprocessing > Spatial and Geostatistics > Kriging > Ordinary Kriging): http://www.saga-gis.org/saga_tool_doc/2.2.2/statistics_kriging_0.html .

I used QGIS for geostatistical research but I left it for R. If you are already familiar with R, it will be easier. Otherwise, the change will be a bit more difficult but worth it.

Currently I am looking for the same; where can you choose the variogram model (fi Gaussian or exponential) you use for the ordinary kriging? In previous versions of qgis apperently you could choose (see https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/224640/variogram-model-saga-on-qgis-processing or https://docs.qgis.org/2.14/en/docs/user_manual/processing_algs/saga/kriging.html), but not any more.
Any ideas Tomislav Jogun ?
