In copper we observe annealing twins, growth twins or deformation twins regularly based on the processing history. Is it possible to process copper such that the twins are not nucleated or the sample has very low twin density and also has a equiaxed annealed structure?

If you anneal your copper sample at the recrystallization temperature range than you can get new grains which are free of any line and surface defects such as dislocations and small angle grain boundaries as well as twin walls. This will reduce the stored strain energy contribution to the Global Helmholtz free energy of system therefore it takes place spontaneously under the isothermal isochoric conditions.
