I am trying to simulate crystal orientation related problem in FEM using Abaqus software. I have chosen Silicon with crystal orientation (100) and (110). I checked with Abaqus documentation, but I could not find any satisfactory information.
If anybody know about such modeling, kindly share with me or any suggestions and related research paper will also help me.
If you are interested in elastic behaviour only, you can just enter anisotropic/orthotropic material parameters for your Silicon.
If you want plasticity as well, there is a vast amount of literature on "crystal plasticity"

Actually I am trying to simulate machining simulation of silicon considering crystal orientation. For that I suppose that crystal plasticity has to be used. I read in the literature that for implementing crystal plasticity in Abaqus, I have to use VUMAT subroutine. But I am the beginner in writing user subroutine. I was looking for any alternating method such as implementing anisotropic material properties in the user interface itself.
