you can carry on your control in only Matlab, i don't know why you need to link Openses to Matlab, unless you have a complex model

Actually yes, the question is that:

What should we do if We want to Simulate an active or semi-active control of a realistic (or complex) structure? Is it possible to model the structure in OpenSees to avoiding the hard process of driving the linear or non-linear numerical modeling?

If we are in the case of complex structure i can guaranty that there should be a way to link Opensees with Matlab ( as i know it's possible to link Ansys with Matlab)

yes, I've linked these two software before in another problems. but I don't know whether it is possible in active control problems or not.
