in optiwave which is used for simulation of optical networks provides flexibility of using matlab functions wherein task of wireless network can be carried out. Many scholars use matlab for coding part and optiwave for optical network related issues. Can be tried , its a good option.
Thank you sir ..i agree with you .. i had implemented your idea in my Master degree.. i want to use optical network as a backbone network ,, problem in optiwave is ..we can have multiple input and output signal ...only one signal at a time can b accessed..do you have any idea abut any other sowftware aur simulator
If Optical network is in backbone only, you can use NS-2 or QualNet, in which a backbone network can be made with Optical properties like high data rate and bandwidth. Rest Wireless network can be made easily. an ex image is attached.
Working on QualNet is easy, as it has some IEEE standard protocols already available and modifying their source code is also easy. NS2 is freely available, while QualNet is not. In Punjab, many universities are using QualNet. You may have a look there or let me know.
