I need to simulate a continuous cable that goes through many sliding joints without being restrained by them. A researcher has formulated a multi-node sliding cable element and implemented it into ABAQUS. I need to know if there's a possibility to do the same with SAP2000.

For entering new material please follow these steps;
define - materials (show advanced opts.) - add new material (set everything to user and other option) - modify material properties.
The problem is to define multi-node sliding cable element. It's not about the element itself, it's about the connection. The program treats each segment of the cable element as if it's a separate element hinged to both end nodes. What I need is to simulate the sliding behavior of the cable through the intermediate nodes.
