I am trying to model the stacked laminated core of an E-motor for modal analysis. In the model for modal analysis I want to include the damping in the structure.

As the E-motor stator is a periodic structure of laminated steel and insulation, I am modelling it as a solid body with homogenized orthotropic material.

The problem I am having is how to calculate the homogenized direction dependent loss factor for the stator (structural damping). Is it possible to calculate the homogenized directioanl dependent loss factor for the stator?
