I am using PQ method software and wondering on how to enter the number of column of each scale (for instance -5 to +5). If we are using the forced choice distribution, then we are just save the number and start to input the results. However, if we are using the free-choice distribution, we have to enter the number of each column of each scale since each Q sorts result has different number of columns.

yes, it is possible to use a free distribution but it makes almost no difference as Brown shown [1]. In Q you should use the forced distribution because it goes more naturally with the method and makes things easier for the participants. If you are using PQmethod, perhaps you can help me. I have PQ DOSBOX set up. However, when I attempt to access PQMethod, I get a dialogue box that says hit any key to continue. When I hit a key to continue, nothing happens. Any suggestions? Also, what is the next step if I'm able to get past the dialogue box?
