Hello, currently I am working on my thesis project. After reading several references, I do not know whether I should use phenomenography analysis or... can we use thematic analysis in phenomenography research?
As far as I can see, this strongly depends on what your research focus is on. If you could provide a quick outline of what your aim and research question is, it might be easier to give advise.
In general phenomenography is more about people and their experiences of phenomena whereas thematic analysis focuses on patterns of meanings in data...
I would also say that it depends on the actual method you employed. if you used the phenomenological method to research the intentionality at stake in the experience of things in the world, I would frame it as phenomenology. If you do not focus on the intentional relation we have to the world around us, but focus on the 'thing', I would frame it a 'thematic'analysis. hope this helps
