Hello,

Is it possible to further dilute a commercial sodium silicate solution or waterglass, simply by adding water ? I've found a paper (Hamouda and Amriri, 2014) which demonstrates that dissolved sodium silicate tends to form gels when the pH of the solution is reduced. Since sodium silicate solution is highly alkaline, I am assuming that adding water may reduce the pH of the solution, thus turning dissolved sodium silicate into gel form.
