I have been trying to find a way to produce a non-immunogenic variant of either HBsAg-S or HbC VLP carrier to express and demonstrate a protein of interest. I will use this VLP with antigen to detect memory B cells against the antigen in B-Cell ELISpot.

However, how can I be sure that the response is ONLY for the antigen on the VLP?

If I substitute the MIR-terminal or the antigenic determinant, can I be sure not to get an anti-VLP B-cell response then?

Thanks!
