Sure, the long-lasting war has made Gaza one big problem. The war has deepened the problems. Gaza has long-lasting social problems.
- Few homes: Very few homes remain.
- Poverty: 2021, 81.5 per cent of individual in Gaza live below the national poverty line.
- Birth rate: The fertility rate in Gaza is still relatively high. It was reported at 6.2 children per woman in the early 2000s and has fallen to 3.38 children per woman in 2023.
- Hunger: 2021, sixty-four percent are food insecure.
- Unemployment: 2021, rate stood at 47 per cent, with the overall youth unemployment rate at 64 per cent.
- Malnutrition: Among children aged 6 to 59 months, an estimated 60,000 cases of acute malnutrition, of which 12,000 severe cases, are expected between September 2024 and August 2025. The risk of Famine between November 2024 and April 2025 persists as long as conflict continues, and humanitarian access is restricted.
- Corruption: Systemic corruption need not result from greed for wealth and luxuries; the quest for political and military power can also furnish the corrupt motive.
- Political extremism and antisemitism: Deepening this problem.
