I have two different datasets of air temperature measured in two periods of time and I would like to ask if it is possible the comparison between their means. It is like to compare day and night temperature by ANOVA/post-hoc tests.
It make sense to compare a climatological values of two different data-sets having the identical time period. But not, if climatology of two different data-sets are having substantially different time scale.
For, this you can see coefficient of variation, or standardize the data first in same unit, and then compare.
Bruno Costa. Your question seems on the surface to be a simple one. Presumably you have something like a set of 30 temperatures taken across one month and another set of 30 temperatures taken for a different month, six months later. A simple independent-samples t-test should address your research question.
But maybe I have not understood your question. I so, please forgive me. Maybe, however, you need to provide more details about your research situation.
