we propose a new method for removing PLI.This method consists in identifying the ECG and noise frequency range for further zeroing wavelet detail coefficients in the subbands with no ECG coefficients in the frequency content. Afterward, the enhanced ECG signal is obtained by the inverse discrete wavelet transform (IDWT). Matlab implementation: https://github.com/brunobro/power-line-interference-removal-in-ECG
Would anyone have another similar idea, but who do not use classic approaches to solve this problem?
As with almost everything, the best method is prevention (distance and shielding). Failing that, then, if phase distortion is not important, a sharp notch filter with centre frequency at mains frequency (60Hz or 50Hz, depending on where in the world you are). No need for adaptive filtering, as maims frequency is pretty stable.
