I am running a load flow analysis for a large grid. I have run the load flow for the same grid in ETAP but it converged only when 3 buses were assigned as the reference bus. Perhaps this is the same problem while running load flow in Digsilent. However, I am having problem assigning more than one bus as the reference bus in Digsilent as the output shows response as "more than one reference machine found for separated area of 1". If anyone has any idea on how to solve this, kindly help

The answer is YES.
I have just try one of my network with several Utilities equivalent and two of them set as SL- bus and PV power plant. Power flow works.

The answer is yes, when system is geographically large and the load dispatch centers are very far from the reference, there may be two or more references.
