I think you should start with a load flow study to ensure the steady-state conditions of the power system are known. then choosing RMS/EMT simulation and defining two simulation events (Starting and clearing time) and choosing the fault type.

RMS simulations are suitable for assessing the long-term behavior of the system without involving detailed dynamic models.
