The major task in embryo transfer is the selection and management of donor and recipient cows. The greatest challenge is, however, indigenous cows in different parts of the globe are not efficient in carrying calf of European breeds for several reasons. For instance, African Zebu cattle have lower reproductive efficiency, poor mothering ability, and suffer from dystocia. If indigenous cows in your country are reproductively efficient, exhibit good mothering ability, can give birth easily, and if good health and feeding management exist, they would be best recipients.
