AI has outperformed humans with respect to speed and accuracy of decisions for decades. However, this advantage is context-specific. There are some areas of decision making where humans outperform AI, such as perceptual decision making or decisions related to language comprehension.
In general, when decisions are amenable to explicit rules or algorithms to reach conclusions, AI tends to outperform humans. In contrast, when decisions require tacit knowledge or implicit inferences humans tend to outperform AI.
