Hi,

I know that BSA is commonly used to prevent non-specific binding. However, I was wondering if it is essential to be included in wash buffer that will be used to attach carbon nanoparticles to an antibody. The protocol that I am using calls for 5 mM Borate Buffer and 1% (w/v) BSA. I want to promote as much binding between my antigen and antibody as possible and am worried that the BSA may interfere with that. I am also trying to save as much time as possible, so, of course, eliminating this extra step would be more time efficient. However, if this is an important element, I will definitely keep it.

Any insights will be greatly appreciated!
