Is it correct to assume a low interference power for Adaptive Beamforming?

During implementation of the matlab code for a paper, I got confused about interference power. In this paper, it is mentioned that signal-to-interference (SIR) is 20dB and the signal power is assumed as 1. If it is so, the interference power will be 0.01. I think this value for interference power will be a very low value. Am I correct?
