Flipped classrooms give more classroom time for lecturers to interact with specific students or specific problems. However, using flipped classroom model in an EFL setting poses many challenges. What could be the possible ways to develop students' language proficieny through flipped classroom? Once language proficiency is gained, it becomes easier to rope in other elements of learning such as critical thinking and problem solving.
I have been experimenting with The flipped classroom and The Dogme and I can absolutely say YES. You can almost use them with any proficiency level. However, there are a couple of things you need to bear in mind. Firstly, you have to be very careful with the material selection. The whole idea behind the Flipped classroom is developing and promoting learners' autonomy. Therefore, you don't really want to choose something that is way below their level or high above because it wouldn't work. Secondly, you need to give a lot of thought to what is it you want to develop, in terms of skills, sub skills, lexis or grammar. So the bottomline is very careful planning. Have fun flipping because it is really rewarding for students and teachers equally.

I think flipped classroom can be applied for any subject but needs good planning.
It's true that flipped classroom it's a good approach to get time in the learn process. But i don't work with languages. If i can talk something , i think its not good idea with beginning students.
I teach in a girls high school where there are many students EFL students. The approach taken in the Algebra 2 classes that I teach that has shown promise is to pair a native speaker who is proficient in English with a student developing their abilities. The challenge to both is to work together, discuss, document their discussions, and raise questions to be addressed in class (all that while completing the homework flipped video and accompanying guided questions.)
Custom way is to distribute Categories A, B, C.... according to their levels of understanding and than to train them group-wise accordingly.
Yeah,for sure we can adopt this method,yet though there is a set of requirements to prepare and arrange first.
Having been using the 'flipped' method for several years, I've found that the weakest students are the ones who have benefitted most due to more exposure time and freedom to 'learn anytime, anywhere'.
I've been flipping English for Professional Communication lectures as we've only 2 hours per week to teach difficult skillsets like presenting in a formal meeting, discussing office related matters, etc.
I must mention though that the flipping happens through the use of 360-Degree Videos and VR Simulations.
Given the above caveats and contexts, these do not detract from the fact that the weakest students have shown improvement and were able to gain better scores than expected - compared to class time being spent mainly on overt teaching per se. Hope this helps 😻
