Dear Kenneth. The organic carbon content of Archean sediments is now very low because the most part of it was destroyed. I agree with Vitality A. Pryvalov. The ingredients for petroleum generation after the life emergence are the same as today. Accumulation of anoxic shale, reservoir and sealing rocks, action geothermal heat, tectonics and migration of oil. In some cases stratigraphic traps can accumulate oil.
