I have a statistic, ( β = -.61, t(104) = -5.07, p  < .001) .  It is in an article I am reading along with others like it. I am seeking to interpret it and the others.  What is the relationship between  β and b, and where is each found in the outcomes in SPSS?  As I have read b in the equation y = a + b(x) is the slope of the line and is the unstandardized coefficient for the dependent variable or of the dependent variable.  In the equation, a is the y-intercept.  If I understand correctly then x is the function of b that is used to determine the specific interception or point of a and b.  But what is  β?
