I'm having a question about equilibrium vs steady state.

Is it true to say equilibrium is just a subset of steady state?

Because what I think is for a steady state system, the rate change over time is constant (the input = output).

Consider a reaction: A B at equilibrium

For this equilibrium system, the forward reaction = backward reaction which in a away can be thought of as input = output with respect to A (or with respect to B) so there's no change in [A] (or [B]) => Means that A can be said at steady state (so does B) (rate change over time is 0)

I notice a difference in these two concept is that for equilibrium, we consider both the reactants and the products, while for steady state, we consider one entity at a time.
