Of course that man will be surprise and feel confuse not understand why that girl give him white rose. And when the girl can't translate the intuitive world well into reality world, that man must be think that girl is mad / error.

many people including myself believe that delusions are metaphors for the thoughts and feelings of someone who has been emotionally privated to the extent that he or she cannot cope with normality. They are attempts to make sense of the world and communicate their inner most feelings. RD Laing has written quite a bit about such matters.

Delusion is a symptom of mental illness. Delusion is a false belief that is firmly held, pathological, out of keeping with a person's educational and cultural background.
One should go by definition rather than assumptions.
Prof Anand's answer demonstrates why many people regard psychiatry as a failed discipline. As Prof Anand should know, what is pathological to one culture may well be regarded as normal to another. It is humans who construct definitions, not gods and as such are subject to prevailing paradigms and cultural influences. Without 'assumptions' and new ideas any discipline is less likely to evolve and improve.
His answer also belittles the work of the anti psychiatry movement of Laing, Cooper, Esterson and others. It further demonstrates the inflexible thinking that prevents the genuine cause of many psychiatric problems such as schizophrenia to be determined.

A broad-brush answer such as 'what is normal in one culture is abnormal in another' is neither helpful nor true. Studies of the phenomenology of mental illness across cultures have revealed a striking similarity in their manifestations.
I wonder how many people in this discussion have any experience of people with delusions or of phenomenology in general. I notice that the most categorical answers often come from those with little or no such experience. From afar, things always seem clearer and simpler.
Delusions, and psychotic-like symptoms in general are an area of much research, but as yet little insight. They are so varied that even classing them as a single entity seems unhelpful, and the lines that separate the normal and the abnormal are often far from clear. And while people are, of course, free to express opinions, the understanding of delusions has not been helped by more than a century of such speculation. If psychiatry needs to rediscover one asset that it has lost in the last fifty years, it is the concern with phenomenology. By failing to pay attention to the nuances of individual experience, we risk falling into broad, unhelpful generalisations.
