We have an independent variable that takes two values A and B, corresponding to an answer of a question related to two possible scenarios in financial decision making. That is, the values of this variable (question) are not in a continous or ordinal scale, so we wonder if is it correct to use a non-parametric test such as U Mann-Whitney in order to determine differences by groups for example gender.
