I am going to simulate a photonic system with a non-sinosuid wave ( a pocket wave, like triangular). I am going to simulate my system in COMSOL but I am not sure that COMSOL could give me results as accurate as FDTD modeling.

To the best of my knowledge, COMSOL could simulate a full-wave problem using its Time Explicit Interface. However, I do not have experience with this interface and I don't know what is the difference between the Time explicit and Transient interface of Comsol. Also, I would like to know which time-dependent interface is more suitable for a 2D system with grating, slab waveguides, and a plus input. to study losses.
